4.5.9.1 Full marking. Unless otherwise specified in the acquisition document (see 4.5.9.2), all of the markings listed in table I shall be marked on the part (see 6.4).
4.5.9.2 Minimum marking. Where size, surface condition, or other design considerations will not allow full
marking on the part (see 6.4.1), the acquisition document shall specify the markings for each part in accordance with table I.
4.5.10 Method II (color coding). When method II is specified in the acquisition document, color codes for part identification shall conform to table II. The standard colors shown in table II shall conform within the preferred limits of the centroid colors as specified in EIA-359. The full marking as specified in 4.5.9.1 shall be marked on the unit package.
4.6 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements, and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs.
